Acai Berry scams not making money anymore?
Acai berries are the dark purplish fruit yielded from the acai palm tree. The acai palm grows in South and Central America, but the acai fruit is mainly harvested and widely consumed in Brazil. In the U. S., the
acai berry first gained mainstream popularity when Dr. Mehmet Oz made a statement on The Oprah Show about the their healthy properties – he never actually endorsed any weight loss program associated with acai berries. From there, hundreds of manufacturers latched onto the statement made by Dr. Oz, and somehow fashioned it into a highly profitable acai berry weight loss industry. Now, one can find acai berry weight loss pills, and acai berry juice diet programs all over the place. It appears that an endorsement doesn’t actually have to be made by Oprah in order to ignite like a wild fire; it merely has to be mentioned on The Oprah Show – that Oprah Winfrey is a bad mothershutyoumouth! Sorry, I digressed.
Acai berries are good for your health (so says the formidable Dr. Oz – on Oprah), and they have no calories, so they must be conducive to weight loss. So far so good, right? Wrong, there has been no scientific evidence to date to support the theory that acai berries promote weight loss. However, this little tidbit has not seemed to deter acai berry weight loss promoters one bit, and they actively participate in highly profitable acai berry weight loss scams. In the past, promoters of these diet scams have been quite creative in their marketing efforts to reel in unsuspecting victims. The latest deception in their arsenal of fraud to be perpetuated on the American public is the highly believable acai berry news story. This one involves acai berry weight loss pills instead of acai berry juice.

In our last post we shared with you 10 tips to help drive down childhood obesity rates. As adults and guardians, we all need to take responsibility for the fact that in 2008 16% of children in England & Wales were obese.
Recent studies released by the Center for Disease Control show that childhood obesity is not improving. In fact, obesity is rising among children of all ages and races and creating chronic health problems, such as high blood pressure and cholesterol, generally only seen in adults. This trend creates a difficult challenge for you as a parent because you have to find a way to promote healthy eating and activities without creating unhealthy ideas about food and weight.
Getting kids to eat healthy foods is not the challenge that it seems to be on the surface. Most kids, especially American kids, get exposed to snacking and video game time at a very young age. Kids’ palettes seem naturally drawn to sweet things. However, this is not something that is a symptom of being a child.
According to a showing on CBS News in January 2010, 2/3 of Americans are overweight, but even more alarming is the fact that childhood obesity has tripled over the last three decades. So, is child obesity a problem? That question hardly needs asking, but what concerned parents want to know is why–after all, it takes understanding a problem before you can get around to finding a solution.
Health-conscious parents may be rather worried about how they can instill healthy habits in kids in the matter of eating a healthy diet. Many kids would rather eat processed foods, and junk food than eat fruit and vegetables, because hey, those foods come in the healthy food category, and they are so boring! Well, many people beg to differ!
Child Obesity is an epidemic that is rapidly on the rise in western culture, and we have notably become one of the most inactive generations. In medical terms we would state that Obesity for all humans is the excess amount of fat on ones body in relation to their height, age, gender and other factors.
