LifePath Members! Let Risk Help Your Business!

Posted on Saturday, June 6, 2009 in Home Business

Many of the LifePath Unlimited practitioners that I have met during my home business career are afraid of risk. They do not embrace it; it would be safe to say that they actively avoid situations where they feel that there is any amount of risk.

This is absolutely not the right way to go about growing a business. Yet some people absolutely insist on sitting back and waiting for the right moment.

So you wake up in the morning and you get your task list ready. What’s on today? Call a few prospects. But wait… what if I get a wrong number? What if the prospect is rude to me? What if I clam up and say the wrong thing… what if?

We can spend our lives worrying about find the right opportunity, or we can just make the best of the opportunities we have.

Take the example – and it’s an example I took literally from one consultation with a LifePath member – of being worried about making the call to the prospect. Imagine it goes wrong: what have you lost? Nothing. What have you gained? Plenty of experience; you now know how not to do it. Learn from this and move onto the next call. But now imagine if it went well and your prospect signed up to your business opportunity: was the call worth it? Of course. In fact it was worth it either way.

In many situations the absolute worst thing you can do is to ‘wait and see’. Doing nothing is the most risky option, whereas actually taking a risk – a risk where the potential rewards are handsome and where you’re likely to learn a lot if it doesn’t go how you dream – is by far the best route.

Risk is not a bad thing, and whether you are a LifePath Unlimited practitioner or not you need to know how to handle it.
