Victims Of Acai Scam Relieved With Settlement

Posted on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in Acai Berry

If you have ever been unlucky enough to become a victim of the many Acai free trial offers that are abound on the Internet, then you’re in good company. You will be relieved to hear that one company running such offers has been given a firm wrist slapping by Arizona Atty Gen Terry Goddard. Goddard brought the action against Central Coast Nutraceuticals after receiving hundreds of complaints from his Arizona residents.

The complaints centered around the deceptive way in which CCN presented its products – acai berry was just one – as being subject to free trial offers (which in fact turned out to be not so free after all); also the top of customers’ lists of complaints was the delivery by CCN of products not ordered or required by the customer. Finally customers were upset with the way that CCN handled the complaints and requests for cancellations: i.e. not at all.

The total settlement sum is some $1,375,000. This split up between civil penalties ($1 million), customer restitution ($350,000) at the state’s legal costs ($25,000). Any customers who believe that they have a case for restitution should contact the Arizona attorney general’s office by close of business on August 17, 2009.

As a aid to your diet, Acai is a powerful friend, and it has brought good health many people who would otherwise find it difficult. Acai is not the problem here, and hopefully customers will recognize this. The real culprit in this case is CCN, and the hundreds of other companies that do business in the same way.
